The biography of Bruce written by his friend and Scotia expedition mate R. Rudmose Brown. Contains a valuable account of the expedition’s preliminaries and biographical details of the officers not found in “The Voyage of the Scotia.” The work was based upon Bruce’s own papers and interviews with his family and mates on the expedition.
