Twenty-six woodblock printed panels, soiled with chipped edges showing much use over time. But in very good condition; string-bound at top. Individual styles as seen in Chinese calligraphy began to emerge in the 19th century as a result of Korea’s close cultural contacts with Qing China. Korean calligraphy was revolutionized in the early 19th century, introducing what is known as the Chusa-style after Kim Jung-hee’s pen name 秋史, inspired by the ancient Chinese Iishu script.
