An exceptionally well-produced publication designed and printed on board the U.S.S. New Mexico in June 1925. A textual and photographic record of the U.S.S. New Mexico’s voyage from Bremerton, Washington to Australia and New Zealand along with the Hawaiian Islands, American Samoa and back. The focus of this unique publication is on the sailormen and ceremonies associated with the arrival of King Neptune and the crossing of the line of the equator. Includes a list of the ship’s company and the Landlubbers who took the initiation upon entry into the domain of King Neptune on Neptune’s Day and thus became members of Royal Order of Neptunus Rex. A fascinating and often humorous account portrayed in images and text of the various initiation ceremonies as well as the ports of call for the U.S.S. New Mexico in 1925.
